June 5 & 6 | July 10 & 11
Get ready to pop & shop! Mark your calendars for Occoquan’s Pop Up Artisan Markets coming this Spring! We will feature THREE open-air weekends of fun and shopping in River Mill Park. Enjoy sunshine, music and sips while you shop, overlooking the Occoquan River. We can’t wait!
How are the Artisan Markets different from the semi-annual Arts & Crafts Show?
Because the Town is concerned about the safety of its citizens, its vendors, and the community at large, we felt that we couldn’t safely invite thousands of people to a craft show in our streets as early as this June. We opted for spacing out our vendors and crowds in the park into three smaller shows, but where plenty of social distancing could take place. The park overlooks the Occoquan River and is a beautiful venue. More good news is that you have three opportunities to shop with your favorite artisans! A list of each market’s vendors will be published.
What about shuttle buses and parking?
With the markets taking place in River Mill Park, the streets in Occoquan will remain open to the general public and street parking is free. In addition, for those who wish to park off site and ride into town, there will be a FREE shuttle that will circle from the VDOT lot at Rt 123 and Old Bridge Road to the park both days of each market. Or choose a VIP package to obtain a dedicated parking space near the park.
Is there a fee to attend?
The shuttle bus trip is free. There will be a $5 admission fee to the Artisan Market that enters patrons (over the age of 12) into each day’s THREE free giveaway drawings. Pre-purchase your tickets here, or at the door; cash and credit accepted. Entry fees are good for the whole weekend.
Free stuff?
Yes! There will be three drawings each day for free giveaways sponsored by the Town and by the market’s vendors. You could win a gift certificate to a Town business or a free item from a favorite crafter.
What else is included in the VIP package?
With over a $50 value, this limited VIP package is a great deal! It includes: an exclusive Occoquan market tote, a dedicated parking space near the park, as well as entry fees and drinks for you AND a guest. So bring a friend! VIP Packages sold here.
Will there be food and drink available?
Yes! One of our local non-profits, Patriots for Disabled Divers, will be hosting a tent with snacks and all your favorite beverages.
What about COVID?
The Town takes this seriously. We will comply with statewide requirements and enforce social distancing. We also will install extra safety protocols this spring, such as extra cleanings of our restrooms and hand sanitizer stations throughout the park.
