Join us in front of Town Hall for our annual tree lighting. Mayor Earnie Porta will officiate this time honored tradition, as Occoquan residents and visitors gather to kick off the holiday season. Most shops will be open until 8pm or later. Free shuttle service will be provided from 1-9pm.

Get ready to jingle all the way to our epic holiday party! Come hang out with us and enjoy tasty treats while checking out the beautiful, diverse artwork of 29 artists. It's a great time to get a jump on your holiday shopping!

This season, we’re proud to partner with Volunteer Prince William to bring joy to seniors in our community through the Senior Basket Program. From November 22 to December 10, the community is invited to donate items to fill festive baskets for local seniors. Items can be delivered to Town Hall on weekdays between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Nov. 24-25, Dec. 1-5 and Dec. 8-10. You can also drop off your contributions and help load the “sleigh” when you exit the shuttle at Mamie Davis Park for Tree Lighting or the Holiday Artisan Market.

Write a letter to Santa and drop it in our North Pole Express mailboxes at Occoquan Town Hall (314 Mill Street) and Hitchcock Paper Co (125 Mill Street) between Saturday, November 22 and Monday, December 15.​ Include an address and Santa will write you back!​​ Design and write your own or draw one with us during the Holiday Artisan Market on Saturday, December 6 from 12-8pm and Sunday, December 7 from 11am-4pm.

Enter a cookie creation in our annual community Gingerbread Contest! Entries can be submitted through Dec. 3. The public is invited to vote on their favorites in three categories on Dec. 6 & 7 during the Holiday Artisan Market in historic Occoquan. Winners will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3:45pm in the Holiday Artisan Market's Market Square!

Our featured artist this month is Patricia Giovannoni. An eclectic artist who captures beauty in different
mediums including painting, encaustic and geli plate printing. Patricia's addition of copper has added a third dimension to her work.

"REFLECTIONS" is an exhibit of Mike’s array of paintings, in both oils and watercolor and how he views the light of our natural surroundings. He captures wonderful landscape scenes connecting the sky, land and water.

The big guy heads into Occoquan by boat on Saturday, December 6. Watch him float into town at the town dock around 11:30am, then parade up to the opening of the market at 12:00pm, where he will invite families to do a sing-a-long in the middle of our festive Artisan Market (corner of Commerce & Union Streets). Next up, Santa will head to Town Hall from 1:00-2:00pm to meet with kids one-on-one! He will greet and take photos with his favorite people at Occoquan Town Hall (314 Mill Street).

Susan Norman and George Jones return with fresh inspiration. Known for themes like wood artistry and tender impressionism, this sixth show offers new reasons to fall in love.

One MAGICAL day in Occoquan returns, curated by Laine of Lainemindinventions. A free event, it’s an extraordinary day of art demos, raffle for locally made art, scavenger hunt, workshops, and tarot readings. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
