Kurinuki is the traditional Japanese method of carving clay to make pots. Stephen Lally, one of the potters at Artists Undertaking, will demonstrate the method on Sunday, August 14th at noon and 2:00 pm. He will have clay and tools available if anyone would like to make a small tray (he'll later fire and glaze the pieces, and customers can come back and pick up the finished pots, at no cost).

From 11am-5pm Patti Durbin will discuss her work and have a variety of fabric shapes and colors for visitors to experiment with to create an image. Patti’s images are diverse and express the joy and uniqueness found in embracing one’s self as they are. She incorporates fabric and recycled materials from an organic perspective to weave positive messages of self empowerment.

This ceremony in River Mill Park includes the unveiling of an original piece of artwork commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hurricane Agnes’ effects on the Town of Occoquan and the surrounding area. Ceremony begins at 11am.
