Explore Mamie Davis Park and River Mill Park within the historic district of Occoquan or get out on the river and kayak or stand up paddleboard!

The entire Town of Occoquan is also designated as a bird sanctuary. It is a great place to watch and photograph numerous species of waterfowl and raptors including ospreys, blue heron, eagles, mallards, Canadian geese, kingfishers, and more.

About 15 minutes from Occoquan is Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, a 3/4 mile boardwalk that traverses Neabsco Creek. This site allows hikers access to wetlands where the tall grasses and marsh filter pollution from the river and provide a rich habitat for winged wildlife. The boardwalk is ADA compliant and encompasses educational sites that highlight information on native wildlife and plants.
Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is just 10 minutes from town and boosts 642 acres with 4 miles of trails, an information center, interpretive kiosks, a photography blind, a gazebo, and two pavilions.

While in town, don't miss the Mill House Museum next to River Mill Park. You can also walk the Occoquan Historical Marker Trail through town.
