Off the Beaten Path

You may be familiar with the shops and restaurants right on Mill Street, but have you explored what's just beyond the center of town?

From businesses whose doors have been open for nearly 50 years, like Artists' Undertaking Gallery (309 Mill St), to those such as Graffiti Cat Pizza (304 Mill St) who just started welcoming customers a few months ago, our Mill Street merchants have received a lot of love over the years!

But did you know that there are a wealth of other businesses hidden throughout town? Visit them today to explore more of what makes Occoquan so special.

Just off Mill Street

You’ve probably walked along Mill Street without even realizing the hidden gems just beyond your view. Marin Woodturning (313 Mill St, Suite F) is one such treasure. Located near River Mill Park, with views of the river, Marin features handcrafted wooden pieces that will make the perfect gift (if you can bring yourself to part with it!).

At the corner of Mill and Union, you’ll enter our Courtyard Shops. Grab a bite of Greek cuisine at Zorba’s Grill (201B Union St) before heading into Leaf & Petal (201C Union St) for specialty teas, herbal remedies, and carefully selected wellness-related products.

Ready to try out your scuba skills? Patriot Diving (305B Mill St) is tucked behind the blue building that houses Glory Be and Puzzle Palooza (305A Mill St), and offers classes ranging from diving lessons, to scuba training, to mermaid certification. Grab your fins and get ready for underwater exploration!

Commerce & Beyond

Spring is just around the corner, and nothing welcomes the sunshine like stained glass. At Sincerely Yours Stained Glass Studio (214 Commerce St), their 30+ years of experience in teaching, selling, and restoring stained glass art have made them a must-see shop in town.

After a full day of exploring the town, treat yourself to some much needed relaxation at Dansk Day Spa (212 Commerce St.) Be transported to another land through their Scandinavian spa experience. With the use of aromatherapy and personalized care, you’re sure to walk away restored, rejuvenated, and really really relaxed.

Keep the journey to new places going by grabbing a pint at Occoquan’s own little Belgian bistro. Cock & Bowl (302 Poplar Alley) proudly serves always-fresh food plus 60 varieties of craft Belgian beer that are guaranteed to top off your time in town.

Near the Bridge

Here in Occoquan, we’re big fans of one-stop-shops. Enter: Riverwalk Shops (125 Mill St). With 14 businesses, you could almost spend your whole day in this one corner of town! Create your own original pottery artwork at Paint Your Heart Out before heading to Bar-J Chili Parlor for some classic Tex-Mex. Grab a perfectly snarky card at Hitchcock Paper Co. or discover the healing powers of crystals at Earth Addictions

Cap off your day across the street at the newly opened Mill Street Draft Garden (200 Mill St) where you will find a family-friendly atmosphere with good food and great drinks.

In Occoquan, you’ll find a little bit of everything. But remember - in order to find the treasure, you have to be willing to explore. Discover all that our town has to offer and plan your trip today at visitoccoquanva.com
