What kind of content is included?

The centerfold of the booklet is a map of Occoquan with a directory of businesses. The publication also contains information about upcoming events, helpful tourist information, and timely articles pertaining to the town businesses and events.

 

All businesses are included in the map/directory for free, regardless of purchasing advertisement. Businesses must hold a valid Occoquan business license and be located in the business district to be included on the map. Home-based businesses or businesses not located within the business district will be listed separately from the map, but still included for free as a basic listing.

 

Who produces the Occoquan Visitor's Guide?

The Occoquan Visitor's Guide is published in partnership by the Town of Occoquan and the Occoquan Business Partners. Membership with the Occoquan Business Partners is not required to purchase an advertisement or be included in the map/directory.

 

Where can people find it?

Printed copies of the Visitor's Guide can be found in the Occoquan Kiosk in front of the Mill House Museum, the Occoquan Town Hall, local hotels/lodging, and any businesses in town who wish to distribute it. This booklet has replaced all previously published town maps. Digital versions of the guide are available at visitoccoquanva.com and occoquanva.gov.

How long is circulation?

The Occoquan Visitor's Guide is printed three (3) times a year and is distributed for approximately four (4) months:

 

  • Winter/Spring -- January to April

  • Summer -- May to August

  • Fall/Holiday -- September to December 

May I combine multiple businesses into one ad space?

Yes, as long as you are the owner of all businesses, you may combine them into one advertising space. Please note ALL businesses must have valid Occoquan business licenses or be OBP Partners, to receive those respective discounts.

Graphic & File Specs.

  • All files must be submitted in the correct size and specifications.

  • Design services are not included in ad fees.

  • Files must be submitted as PDF, EPS, or JPG only. Word Docs and Publisher files are not accepted.

  • All graphics should be 300 dpi for best resolution.

  • For EPS/PDF files created in Adobe, all fonts should be outlined.

  • CMYK color only. NO PMS/Pantone colors permitted.

Discounts & Terms.

To purchase any advertisement or be included in the Town map/directory all Occoquan businesses must have a current town business license and be in good standing.

 

To receive the special "Occoquan Business Partner" rate, the business must be a Partner of the Occoquan Business Partners and have paid in full for the 2022 calendar year.
