As the weather starts to get warmer, merchants in Occoquan are ready to open those doors, bring out the patio furniture, and embrace the sunshine and warm breeze. There's plenty to do this spring in our historic riverfront town and we're just 20 miles south of Washington, DC making it a great day trip!
Dine Outside
Relax and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants with outdoor seating. Bar J has great river views and live music on the weekends. The Spot on Mill Street is a perfect breakfast spot with options for dining on the front porch (people watching!) or the back garden deck. Or grab a piece of artisan pizza from Third Base Pizza & Frozen Custard and hang out by the fire pit.
Kayaking
Check out the newly launched kayak ramp, located under the Rt 123 bridge and explore the Occoquan and Potomac Rivers. The ramp is free to the public and adjacent to convenient free parking. When you're done, grab a bite at a local restaurants and do some shopping - all within walking distance.

Personally Yours has two full stories of decor for inside your house and out. Check out their wide selection of mailbox flags, floral wreaths, and Easter accessories. The Reclaimed Treasures boasts paint, stencils, and supplies to transform your wood furniture into new. They also have custom painting services, spring wreaths, and more.
Town-wide Egg Hunt
The hunt is on! From March 25 to April 4, search the town for special eggs full of surprises from merchants around Occoquan. Redeem your free gift, prize, chocolate, Peep ears, or coupon at the merchant listed in the egg. The egg hunt is part of the 11 day Occoquan Peep Week! hosted by the Occoquan Merchants Guild and the Town of Occoquan.

The Loft Gallery is a second floor space where artists not only showcase their fine art, but you might actually find one of their 21 professional artists AT work during your visit. Loft artists produce in watercolor, oils, acrylic, pastels, photography, and 3D. Artists' Undertaking Gallery in hosting Marching into Spring, a show featuring Digital Illustrations by Nancy Rose Cahill of Woodbridge, Virginia and Art Glass and Fused Glass Jewelry by David and Dale Barnes of Sterling, Virginia, now through April 5, 2021.
Local Colour has a vibrant collection of artists producing gorgeous pottery, jewelry, and other unique finds in their shop. And Art a La Carte hosts 25 local artists with paintings, photography, jewelry, card making, and more.
Explore the Artisan Markets
The Occoquan Artisan Markets will be hosted May 8 & 9, June 5 & 6, and July 10 & 11 in River Mill Park along the beautiful Occoquan River and will occur on three separate weekends: each a sleek and distinct arts and crafts market individually curated from the work of juried artisans.
